Knowing God

The Creator of the heavens and the earth wants to have a personal relationship with you.
God gives each of us an opportunity through His Son, Jesus Christ, to know Him forever. He is calling you, how do you answer and begin this relationship with God?

Knowing God

The Creator of the heavens and the earth wants to have a personal relationship with you.
God gives each of us an opportunity through His Son, Jesus Christ, to know Him forever. He is calling you, how do you answer and begin this relationship with God?

STEP 1

Realize that you are a sinner

No matter how hard we try to live a good life, we can never be good enough for a holy God. "We all fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)  because we all sin, "there is no one righteous, no not one." (Romans 3:10) Sin means that we can not live up to God's holy and perfect standard of righteousness. "For the wages of sin is death" - we earn a death sentence because we sin - but there is good news, there is a "gift from God which is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) We cannot become who we are supposed to be without Jesus Christ.

STEP 2

Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you

We deserve death because of sin, but instead of giving death to us, Jesus took our place and suffered death for us that we might be forgiven by God. "God demonstrates His love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) This is the Gospel - the Good News that God loves us so much that He sent His Son to die in our place when we least deserved it. Believe, this is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who He said He was. "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10)

STEP 3

Repent of your sins and go the other way

The Bible tells us, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.” (Acts 3:19) The word repent means to change our direction in life. Instead of running from God, we can run toward Him. When we confess and repent, we are agreeing with God that we need His grace and forgiveness in our lives.

STEP 4

Receive Jesus Christ into your life

Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church. It is having Jesus Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in ..." (Revelation 3:20). For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

Life is short, time goes by in a blink of an eye... do not miss this opportunity that God has placed on your heart. Humble yourself and invite Jesus into your life, He will change you. There is a hole inside each of our hearts, in which we attempt to fill that hole with things that we think would make us happy and complete (money, popularity, family, sports car, big house, big boat...) That hole in your heart is meant for Jesus, His grace is sufficient. He loves you so much that He came to earth, lived a sinless life, died a brutal death on a cross so that we may have a relationship with God and not be eternally separated from Him. If you would like to have a relationship with Christ, simply pray this prayer, wherever you are it doesn't matter, and mean it in your heart:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for your love and dying for me. I know I am a sinner and do not deserve what You offer. I am sorry for all the wrong things I have done in my life. I believe You died for my sins, was buried, and rose from the dead. Please come into my life, change my heart, lead me in my life. You are my personal Lord and Savior, thank You for saving me.I pray this with all of my heart in the name of Jesus, Amen.

God looks upon and knows your heart. If you have prayed this by faith from your heart, then you are completely forgiven, you are a new creation, you are innocent in the eyes of God. You ARE a Christian! Welcome to the family of God.
